Never ever ever {link up}

I orginally wrote this post a week or so ago, but knew it was perfect for this one-time link up with one of my favorite blogs, A Complete Waste of Make-up.

The theme is things you would say "never ever ever"...and this is my "mommy" version.

 And now for your reading enjoyment...things no mother would ever, ever say!

We've all seen this type of e-card...the ones that end on "said no one ever...". I can be easily amused so these crack me up. Most e-cards do. In fact, if you check me out on Pinterest my ha ha funny! board is chock full of these!

See? Funny.

As a mom, there are about a million of these I could write....

"Sure! I LOVE cleaning all that pee around the potty every day!" said no mother ever.

"The best part of my day is when my kids are suppose to be tucked in bed and sleeping, but instead I am repeatedly telling you to get back in bed." said no mother ever.

"Waking up before the sun rises is the best. ESPECIALLY when it's on a weekend!" said no mother ever.

"I just can't wait to sweep after every.single.meal because a meal isn't complete until I've had to spend 30 minutes cleaning up after it" said no mother ever.

"I love talking to myself. Please, continue to ignore me." said no mother ever.

"Yea, I totally want to wipe your bum after you've pooped. It's the best." said no mother ever.

"Please spill that juice on the carpet I just cleaned. It looks better stained." said no mother ever.

"Don't forget to squeeze half the toothpaste on the counter while you are brushing your teeth!" said no mother ever.

"Would you stop being so quiet?" said no mother ever.

"Why aren't you fighting with your siblings?" said no mother ever.

"Yea I wasn't watching that show, I'd much rather watch Mickey Mouse." said no mother ever.

"I love having no social life." said no mother ever.

Yes, continue to leave a giant mess in every room because I live to clean." said no mother ever.

"No, no, no...you don't have to eat that meal I prepared and cooked for over an hour. Why would I care?" said no mother ever.

I could go on and on...I should write a book; but that would allow me to focus on me, and why would I want that? said no mother ever...

Sunday Social #4 {link up}

Sunday Social

It's Sunday again and that means its time for Sunday Social!

This week's theme appears to be about rebellious childhood behaviors so this one may not be too interesting, haha, because I was not a rebellious child. I was a good girl :)  But we can give this a whirl, because it's fun to take a stroll down memory lane.

Did you sleepwalk as a child?
No, but my brother did!  It was funny.  Thankfully i did not and my kids don't appear to much, but on occasion have come out of their beds and been walking around like weirdos.

Did you ever try to run away or sneak out of your house?
Again, no.  I never snuck out once.  My mom was fairly lenient with us, and I hung out with a good crowd so that was that!  Bored yet??
My son did try and leave us once.  He wanted to go on a plane and go to Massachusetts and see his cousins so he packed all his crap and walked out the front door...then promptly turned around and came back in crying. Poor kid!

Did you have any imaginary friends?
No...I was cool and had REAL friends. haha

Did you ever go toilet papering?
Wait for it....no!  Why the heck would I want to do that??  BUT I do remember a time that my high school friends and I had eaten at The Outback (I think?) and had leftover steaks.  On the drive home in my friends awesome van, the boys decided to pull over, open the door and throw their steak at someone walking down the street- what dicks we were!  But, let the record show: I did not throw the steak.

Did you ever sneak tv shows you weren’t allowed to watch?
Ummm...who wasn't allowed to watch Save By The Bell and Dawson's Creek??  No, I never had to sneak a show in.

Ok...yes, I was a good girl but here were some things I DID do:

- skip my last class in high school to go get dairy queen (I was already 18 so I could just sign myself out AND my last period physics teacher didn't really care, as long as I brought him back a blizzard too- yes, you read that correct: I skipped class, got DQ and then went BACK to school!)

- Throw the best-to-date New Year's Eve party sophomore year.  My mom came home to some one throwing up in the snow on the front porch and all's she said was to have it cleaned up before she got home a few hours later- best.mom.ever!)

Annnddd...I can't think of anything else! Hopefully all that great behavior will be passed on to my kids.  For sure with Abby...probably for Jake, but Hannah will probably answer "yes" to all above questions.

Were you a well behaved child??  Hopefully because Karma is a b*tch!

Happies and Crappies #8 {link up}

Scissors and a Whisk: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Is it Friday already?
That week went by fast!!

This week was busy as usual....I don't know why I always say YES to everything!

Happies:

- I have been up to my eyeballs in helping to plan my kid's school carnival put on by the PTSA...thankfully this event is TONIGHT!  It will be fun but I won't lie that I'll be glad when it's over! Then I will have a week reprieve before it's onto teacher appreciation week and then a helping with the preschool ice cream social for their annual art show...is it summer yet??

- Yesterday was "Take your child to work day" and the kiddies go to spend the morning with Daddy at work.  They did noodle art, toured the kitchen and storage areas and got to have a yummy lunch.  It was fun and they really enjoyed themselves!

Cute huh?

- I have managed to run almost a week straight on the treadmill...which is quite a feat!  Mind you, none of these runs are more than 3.5 miles but that's because it's pretty much the most I can do without losing my mind.  This is also a huge accomplishment since I haven't had a day without the kids.

- We went to the Pima County Fair this week, and despite spending a flipping fortune, the kids had a blast and are starting to get braver on the rides.  It will be good practice for Disney in the fall.

- In preparation for my big switch to Wordpress this next week, I have been searching high and low for a theme I want.  Finally after consulting with some friends last night I have decided to settle on an "ok" theme for now and then in the summer really plan one that I want.  This way I can take my time and not be rushed :)

- Yesterday I did a guest blogging for Totsy and I am so excited for it!  It seems that people really liked my writing and I am hoping they ask me back again and that this opens more doors for me in the future. You can read my post here.

Crappies:

- Still no date night...hopefully some day before I have gray hair, Mr. Pea and I can have a nice night out together...with no kids!

- A very good friend of mine is going through a not-so-easy time in her life right now and I wish I could do more to help!!!  Unfortunately, in this situation, there is literally nothing I can do, except be a good friend and listen.  I am praying for her daily and hope that she gets the good news soon that she deserves <3

How was your week??  Hopefully you had more happies than crappies!!

It's ok Thursday! #3 {link up}

Its Ok Thursdays

Remember this Thursday...

It's ok...

- to eat half your kids pasta at take your child to work day...you know they aren't going to finish it anyways!

- to run over a random kids foot with the stroller by accident at the fair because you were mesmerized with the chick at the fair wearing FUZZY PURPLE SOCKS AND MATCHING SLIPPERS. Wtf?

- to eat a mini fried dough alone at the above stated fair and not share with your kids because:

- to be so excited for your writing to be "published" on a big-named blog!!!

- to make everyone you know comment on the blog so it looks popular!

- to do shorter runs on the treadmill because you can't bare doing a longer one! (4 miles is my MAX)

- to feel completely overwhelmed with my upcoming move to Wordpress!

- to not be satisfied with ANY theme you have found thus far :/

- to long for a vacation...even though there are none in the near future.

- to be obsessed with strawberry-banana-yogurt-chia seed smoothies

What's ok with you today??

Mommy Confessions: Why I am a terrible mom {link up}

Your Website Name
This is my first time linking up with two amazing bloggers Heather and Megan!
This weekly link up allows moms to make a confession...and I have one!!

Sometimes I can be a terrible mom...not all of the time, just occasionally.

Ok, ready?  Don't judge me!!

I am the WORST mother with sick kids!  Now, not the worst like I don't take care of them, or love them, or make them soup or ice cream; obviously I do all of that, BUT my kids just aggravate the CRAP out of me when they are sick!  I have zero patience. I know!  Terrible, right?  It's not even their fault!  It's just SO annoying when they are SO needy!  My oldest is the worst.  When she is sick, it's like a man-cold times ten.  Everything hurts and she can't so anything.  And don't even THINK about mentioning throw up.  If anyone even breathes the words near her she automatically thinks she is going to, which sends her off into a melt down.  It's crazy.  Maybe it's because I'm the opposite of needy so when everyone is around me it really gets on my nerves.  Also, with three kids close in age, when one gets sick they ALL get sick, and not usually all at once, but back-to-back-to-back.  So it's like a month or more of sickness.  All the snot, all the laying, all the tissues, sanitizer, Lysol, disinfecting wipes, Vick's, multiple medicines and the repeats of Mickey, Curious George, Thomas the Train and Spider man...it's starts to make a mama go batty after awhile.  Of course I hate to see my kids run down, tired and feeling yucky.  Especially when they are VERY sick, which thankfully is few and far between.  But I am sorry other moms on Facebook:  the last thing I want to do is lay around all day with my sick kids.  I'm really not the laying around type.  I am not "enjoying" those "special moment" with my "special guy".  Maybe when I had ONE kid, we would lay around together, but now I have THREE, which may as well be ten.

Do you think I am a terrible mom now?  I feel better getting that confession off my chest.  If you know me at all, you already know that I really don't care about your answer anyways ;)

I sure do love my peas and would throw myself in front of a bus for them...but that still doesn't mean they don't aggravate me every now and again.  That's ok, isn't it?

Thank heavens for wine!

What's your mommy confession??  Come on and share and make me feel like less of a dirt bag!

Just because now I feel guilty, I'll share a cute picture to make me feel better :)

See?  I don't look like a terrible mom!  They still love me.

Sunday Social #3 {link up}

Sunday Social

Is it Sunday already??

Ever since I've stopped working, "weekends" are really no different to me than "week days" especially with having a hubby that works every weekend, but with the kids hectic schedules with school and sports I've started looking forward to the weekend again since they are a bit more mellow.

Since it's Sunday, that means it's time for the Sunday Social link up!

Here are this weeks questions:

What is your shopping weakness?
Ahhhh...this is a difficult question.  I'm going to assume that it's safe to say that if I answer this question about what I want and not my kids, I won't be shunned, right??  Yes?  Ok, good.  Well then for me, lately it's been necklaces :)  If I had a million dollars I'd certainly want a new wardrobe and a fancy purse to match each.  I love new bags, and in my non-kid days, I used to buy a new Kate Spade or Coach bag at least twice a year, but now I have to think smaller.....and cheaper.  Necklaces have been my new obsession.  They dress up casual outfits...even black yoga pants!!! I have been loving getting bubble necklaces from Urban Peach Boutique,  I have about 5 now in different colors.  Here's a few styles that I love:

 Image of Coral Briolette Necklace

Image of Mint Mini Bubble Necklace

Image of Navy Bubble Necklace
Image of Fuchsia Cascade Bubble Necklace
Gorgeous!!!

What is your food weakness?
Mashed potatoes...hands down.  Even better with gravy...yummers.

What is your go to movie to watch when nothing is on?
Well I live in the modern age and have a DVR sooooo rarely I have nothing to watch, BUT my favorite movie to watch over and over again is She's Having a Baby with Kevin Bacon and Elizabeth McGovern.  Love!

What is your go to breakfast food?
Normally I eat an english muffin with peanut butter...quick, easy, healthy and quick...did I say quick?

Do you drink coffee? If so how do you take it?
I'm not a super fan of coffee...more of a tea gal.  My favorite tea is Chai, hot and iced.  Every morning I have a cup of english breakfast tea, skim milk and two sugars. :)

I hope everyone has an amazing Sunday!!

Happies and Crappies #7 {link up}

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up
This is not the best week for happies....it's difficult to find the silver lining amid such sadness and tragedy but if there is one thing that we can take away from these events is that we certainly live in the greatest of all nations and that we WILL stay strong and we WILL overcome.

Happies:

- Being MA born and bred, the Marathon Bombing weighs on my soul.  I just hate not being home, not being able to comfort my sister who was two blocks away when the bombs went off, not being about to sit with my sister-in-law who worries about her husband and my brother who is a local police officer.  Why then is this a "happies"??  It's a happy because we have an amazingly strong family and no distance not events can tear us apart.  Our mother raised us well.

- Being glued to CNN and Twitter this morning, I am reminded that we are SO lucky that these events are truly "shocking" because there are so many countries and places in the world that manhunts, bombings, shoot-outs and chaos are daily events.  I am grateful to be an American and a Bostonian and even more grateful that my children are being raised just as strongly in this country.

- Since Monday this Mr. Rodgers' quote has been seen a lot:

It is imperative to look for the good in these situations and Mr. Rodgers' mama hit the nail on the head.  Runners giving blood after running 26.2 miles, random people tearing down guardrails to get to the injured, police and military working tirelessly to figure out who did this and catch these SOB's, and the brave firefighters in Texas, sacrificing it all to save those plant workers.  We need to focus on THESE people and not those loons.  People want "answers" but no answer will ever be good enough. We are a good people, with strong hearts and we need to remember just what it means to be an American.

- I was lucky enough to go on two field trips this week with two of my peas.  I am so grateful for the ability to be home to share these moments with them...seeing how there are so many mama's that don't.

Crappies:

- Need I be specific here??  3 lives lost in the bombing, one officer dead, 150+ injured, 12 dead in Texas.  It's been the worst week...my heart is heavy.

Stay strong Boston.  Stay strong Texas.

America: be kind to one another.  Give blood, donate money if you can.  Hug your family, friend and kiddies.  We will make it though this and will be even stronger on the other side.

How do I know this??  We are American, for Pete's Sake!!!  Greatest country on Earth.

The Mama Memoirs {link up}

An oldie but a goodie!!

This post was originally done on December 13, 2012 but I thought it would make a nice post for this new bi-monthly Mama Memoirs link up.  This link up gives fellow mommy bloggers a place to share any mom story they want- judgement free! What a great idea!

I've learned a lot of these 7 years of motherhood, some easier than others....

25 lessons I learned from motherhood:

1. Never let a kid hold a tube of super glue, even for a second.

2. Even if they say they don't need to, ALWAYS take the kids to the potty before you leave to do errands.

3. Carry an extra set of clothes with you per kids, no matter how old they are.

4. If you are going out, be sure to check your bag for diapers!

5. Keep all sharpies out of your kids reach.

6. Mr. Clean Erasers are a god-send. Keep a nice stock of those.

7. It will take you "x" number of times longer (x equals the number of kids you have with you) to do an errand, such as "running" into Target or the grocery store, than it used to take you.

8. Walk away from temper tantrums, it's not worth your sanity.

9. Never start a "project" when the kids are up. You know you aren't going to get it accomplished!

10. All kids will eventually eat. Stop stressing out.

11. You will never have any privacy again.

12. You will constantly look "tired".

13. Messes will always just seem to "appear" out of thin air.

14. Your kids will 97% not eat that awesome new dish you found on Pinterest.

15. If you think your shaving razor is high, it's not high enough!!

16. You can never have enough wine or caffeinated drinks in the house.

17. It's best to tell a kid about an exciting thing you are doing or that will be happening exactly 2 minutes before it's about to happen.

18. No TV for the kiddies too close to bed, or else your bedtime visits will multiply exponentially.

19. It's not the best idea to take your kid's lovey out and about with you, especially in a place far from home.

20. You will never get a response from your kids the first time you ask.

21. A quiet child is most likely getting into trouble.

22. You can never have enough hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, or concealer.

23. It's a good idea to keep a hidden stash of candy or stickers for bribing purposes.

24. Kids will always repeat what you say.

25. If you had a "not-your-best-mommy" day, you can always try again tomorrow. :)

It's ok Thursday! #2 {link up}

Its Ok Thursdays

It's ok....

- to be so excited, and simultaneously exhausted, about going on two field trips this week!

- to feel you should start buying stock in Red Bull or Rockstars

- to be excited that you saved $160 at the grocery store and only spent $100 (thanks coupons!)

- to wear the same shirt twice in one week because a. it's adorable and b. no one saw you wear it
(see! I am not the only one!!)

- to still be stressing about your upcoming guest blog post with Totsy!!!!!

- to be excited to think that you should buy your own domain name for your "little" blog and make the upgrade to WP {eeekk!!}

- to feel like you deserve a new car for all the chauffeurring you are doing for your children...like for REALS

- to have one of these days...oh I mean WEEKS...

- to hit snooze 3 times before you finally get out of bed for your early run...but then be so glad you did it!

- to be ready for summer...not because of the weather, but just so you can have some time to RELAX!

What's "ok" in your book?

Happies and Crappies #6 {link up}

Scissors and a Whisk: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies and Crappies week #6!

Happy Friday!

This was a pretty good week.  Now that the kids are back in school, it's been nice to try and get things back to normal and in our usual routine.  Here is my week in a golden, sparkly nutshell :)

Happies:

- Forever ago, I filled out an application to be a guest blogger for Totsy (the daily deals site) and this week I heard back that they would like me to work with them!!!  I'm sure they have many guest bloggers, but this is my first time ever doing this and I am over the moon!  I think it would be so neat to have readers from all over read my work in a big-named blog! (at least bigger than mine).  My submit date is later this month, so stay tuned to see it published!

- Last week, our microwave broke.  Granted we have had it for about 13 years...BUT it was still annoying...but only for a few days because then we bought a new one that goes above the range.  It looks awesome and makes the kitchen look like new!  Next we want to replace the range for a stainless steel one as well as the dishwasher..but alas, one thing at a time :)
(My handsome Mr. Pea personally installed this and was very proud of his work...and so was I!!)

- My friend Stacey and I FINALLY had some free time to take a stroll to Starbucks and to the park with the littles.  It was so nice to catch up!!

- I have ran 4 times this week so far, which is the most consistent I have been able to run over the last few weeks.  I am focused on getting back on track and fitting my runs in!

- My friend Courtney and I started our new favorite tradition: rinner!!!  Rinner is a nice run and dinner afterwards.  Sounds like a perfect combo to me!  This rinner was especially nice because it was happy hour and we had some delish margaritas as well.
After a four mile hilly run, these ritas' tasted perfect.  Can't wait until our next rinner date!

- In February, a group of us ran the Tough Mudder.  Mr. Pea, myself and two of our other friends completed the race in 2 hrs and 59 minutes, which we thought was decent at the time but nothing too special.  WELL it turns out that it was pretty darn special and that our time was in the top 5% and that we qualified for the World's Toughest Mudder event which is a 24 hour version of the original 12-mile course.  What?!?! Not quite sure I want to tackle that but it still pretty bad-ass that we qualified.
BAMF all the way.

Happies/Crappies:

- We made the final stone selection for Mr. Peas' brother today.  His marker won't be installed for a bit, but I am still glad it is in the works.  It will look nice and will be the final piece in this difficult puzzle.  We chose some traditional emblems and phrases and also some special ones to us: the letters of Mr. Pea's and his brother's college fraternity Pi Kappa Phi and also a phrase that meant a lot to us and has an inside meaning; "I regret nothing!".  I am looking forward to making some additional stones for his place to make this all complete.  Only when all the difficult decisions have been made is when the heart can begin to heal <3

Crappies:

- Mr. Pea and I had our 6 wedding anniversary last month and it fell smack in the middle of us dealing with our family issues, so obviously this fell by the way side.  We tried to reschedule our much overdue date night for this week, but it wasn't a possibility.  Hopefully we can find some time soon for a nice and now very belated anniversary dinner!

More happies than crappies makes for a good week!  I hope you all had the same.

"It's ok" Thursdays {link up!}

Its Ok Thursdays

This is a link up with two great bloggers over at A Complete Waste of Makeup and Brunch with Amber!!

It's ok.....

to be massively excited about your new over the range microwave! (It takes up less space and looks great!)

to be secretly excited to have your son's t-ball practice be canceled this week just because you are sick of driving around.

to ruin your day's run and additional workout with a big bowl of ice cream after the kids are in bed. (it is, right?!? I guess as long as it isn't everyday.)

to feel like you want to sell your kids to the circus every now and again.

to go through your kid's artwork and not keep every piece (there is just too much!)

to be excited for your husband to work late on occasion so you can watch 7 episodes of Days of Our Lives in a row and eat that above stated ice cream.

to sip on a glass of wine while making the kids dinner.

to fill up that glass again when they are finally in bed!

to wear make up every.single.day.

to be sad your date night got canceled...AGAIN! Some day Mr. Pea, we WILL get out!

to be so excited about blogging for Totsy, and also be nervous: what if they think I suck??

to repaint your finger nails almost everyday because when you do two loads of dishes, they chip off :/

to always remember this: (it's great advice)

Sunday Social #2 {Link up}

Sunday Social

Happy Easter everyone!

Since I had a busy day and would REALLY like to enjoy my wine, this post will be short and sweet :)

Just as a reminder, Sunday Social is a weekly link-up where we answer 5 questions about us!
Here are this weeks questions:

1. Favorite type of work out to do?
Running, of course!!  Obviously :)

2. Favorite guilty pleasure candy or sweet?
This may sound dorky, but I LOVE vanilla ice cream (Breyers, more specifically) with hot fudge...YUM!  My all-time favorite hot fudge was from Canyon Ranch...SO insanely delicious and when Mr. Pea was a server there ages ago I would love to go in and get some.

3. What is one thing you continuously forget to do?
Water my plants....I literally have to write myself a note or else I forget.

4. Posts its or phone reminders? Why?
Currently both.  I constantly have a to-list going on but since I got my iPhone for my birthday I have been setting phone reminders, especially when I am not home!

5. Favorite picture currently on your phone that always makes you smile
I'm going to share two!

This is Mr. Pea and I all dressed up to go to his work Christmas party.  I like it because we look great AND excited to go out without the kids! Whoo-hoo!

Annndddd this gem...This is Jacob's favorite Monkey named fittingly, Monkey, that he has has since his 1st Christmas.  On this particular day, Jacob had Monkey sitting on top of his radio with the headphones listening to some music.  Hilarious and adorable.

Thanks for stopping by for some Sunday Social action!!

Happies and Crappies #5 {link up!}

Scissors and a Whisk: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happy Friday all!

Being a stay at home mom that has a husband that works every weekend, Friday is really no different than any other day, but happy Friday to all of those who Friday is special!

Last week I did not do Happies and Crappies, because the crappies FAR out weighed the happies, and I just didn't have much free time.  I am glad that this week I had some happies I am excited to share!

Happies:

- I have had more time to blog this week.  I have done a new post almost every day and have several recipes and projects in the works for next week.  This makes me VERY happy :)

- Shockingly my mileage for March wasn't too bad.  I plan on doing at least 3 miles today and tomorrow on the treadmill and with that added 6 miles, it will bring my March total to 83 miles and my year-to-date to 227.8.  I had really wanted to do 90 but with a week with no running, that wasn't going to happen.  As the weather gets hotter, it's gets more difficult to find time to run (+ Mr. Peas's work schedule never helps) but I will figure out a way to fit it in!

- I ran the Arizona Distance Classic this past weekend.  My friend Courtney, her sister Breanne and I all did a fantastic job and it was mucho fun.  I ran the quarter marathon in 1 hour and 3 minutes and came in 68th place out of 338 people!  I had REALLY wanted to come in under an hour, but with all the crappies we had the prior week, I didn't have too much free time for running, so I can't complain.

Don't we just look smashing??  We barely look sweaty :)

I had a nice man take this for me.  Please don't ask me what I am doing with my hand because I don't know.  I still like the pic though.

This was as soon as Courtney and Breanne finished.  They finished at the same time, two cute sisters :)  I am proud of both of them!

- Easter has completely snuck up on me this year.  I feel woefully unprepared, which isn't like me!  I did get some goodies for the peas and things for their eggs.  Unfortunately Mr. Pea is working so he won't be able to join us for church or dinner.  I will save him a plate of ham, though.  The other day, we colored eggs.  We only lost one solider during battle.

Mr. Pea and Hannah

The peas.  We have been using this same Dora tablecloth for all our painting and egg dying needs since Abby was 2.

Mama and the peas.

Mama and Jake...I look tired, someone should have told me.

The finished product!  Yes, that is a spider man egg, of course.

- I had a nice play date with some of my mommy friends.  The kids played in the pool and us mama's had a margarita.  It was perfection.

- The kids are in full swing with their spring sports.  It is fun for them to be so busy!  Abby is taking an art class every Monday and Jake is playing T-ball.  I know four of the mama's on Jake's team.  It is fun to sit and be the "cool moms" together.

Crappies:

- The kids spring sports are KILLING me!  I have literally driving all over town.  It figures that Jake's baseball is the same two nights Abby has her art class and also CCD.  Ugg....thank heavens Mr. Pea works right down the street from her two events because I am having to rush to drive her and drop her off and then turn around and drive ALL the way back to Rita Ranch for Jacob's events while he picks her up.  I need a glass of wine just thinking of all the gas I will be using!  At least they are cute and are enjoying their activities.

- We toured the cemeteries for my brother-in-law.  It is a "happy/crappy".  Crappy, for obvious reasons, but a happy that Mr. Pea has found a place he feels good about.  It's a difficult decision.  I will be glad when he is at peace.  I have a very unfinished feeling in my heart that is hard to explain.  When he has his place and his stone, then we can begin to heal.  Since this is a Catholic cemetery we can only have religious icons on his stone, so no Denver Bronco, but I plan on painting some rocks to place around his stone with all his favorite things.  I did the same for my Mom's grave.  It's my way of showing how much we loved him and miss him.

How was your week??  Are you ready for April, because it's almost here!

Sunday Social #1 {link up}

Sunday Social

This is a new link up for me! Sunday Social is a link up from Neely over at A Complete Waste of Makeup.  Every week, she asks five questions and you give your answer...what could be easier than that!!

Because of certain family happenings, I haven't been able to blog as often as I like to so this week I have two missions: 1. BLOG and 2. WORKOUT everyday (running and/or weights).  I am determined to be successful :)

Here is my first edition of Sunday Social

This Weeks Questions:

1. What is your favorite thing about Spring?
Having grown up in a place with actual SEASONS, spring usually means warmer weather and more outdoors time...since Tucson isn't quite like home, I do love the warmer weather, but also the "new beginning" feeling of spring.  It's a time to clean house and get ready for summer!  I like to go though closets and get rid of stuff that doesn't fit and open the windows and let the sun shine in!  (And then usually dust all the crap I see when the sun is shining on it)

2. Favorite kind of flowers to grow or receive?
My favorite flower is the tulip.  It's so pretty and was the flower I held at my wedding.  I don't grow flowers too much, I only have a "light green" thumb and tend to let things die outside, since I can forget to water them :/

3. What is your favorite nail polish color?
There is no way I could pick just one!!  I've always leaned towards pinks and reds since I was growing up, but in my old age, I like to branch out and paint my nails all different colors.  I usually change my toes once a week.  Currently I have a pretty blue shade with a sparkly topcoat called "Avenue Maintain" and "Stroke of Brilliance" both by Essie, my very favorite brand of nail polish!
So pretty!

4. What is your favorite out door activity?
Running is my very favorite solo outdoor activity (or with Mr. Pea).  With the peas, I love to take walks around the block and swim (of course!) when it's warm enough.

5. Do you have any fun Spring plans?
Ummm....not really.  Mr. Pea and I have wanted to have a date night for like 3 months, so hopefully we can make that happen soon!!  Our back yard needs some SERIOUS love so we will be working on that as well.

What do you love about spring??  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Happies and Crappies #4 {link up!}

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

It's Happies and Crappies Time!!!! Week #4

Is is Friday already???  Where did the week go??  Oh yea, I remember I caught my peas buggies and felt like poop for most of the week...OH YES, I REMEMBER NOW....

Happies:

- I had Jacob's 1st T-ball meeting this week. I am BEYOND excited for him to start baseball!  I feel like he is "made" physically for baseball and I hope he loves it :) I can see him being an adorable high school boy playing....and I'll be the good looking, fit mama on the side lines...can't you picture it??  Me too...   As an added bonus, I know many of the mama's on the team and I highly enjoy their company so this season should be FUN!  I'm pretty sure we will need to "get together" to "plan team snacks" soon...I'll bring the wine!
- My hard working hubby gets a boys weekend trip to Chicago to visit his bestie!  I am over the moon for him because he deserves this.  Mr. Pea works very hard for us, and I am excited for him to have some fun with his friends.
- Well....Mr. Pea can't have all the fun, right??? Since he's having a boys weekend, I took it upon myself to plan a day with one of my besties Courtney to have some lunch and clearance rack shopping at the upscale mall in town.  Perhaps a cocktail will be ordered?? Maybe :)  Ok, for sure!  Then I want to hit up Lululemon who has ADORABLE running clothes.  Expensive, yes, so hence the "clearance rack" comment.  I can't wait!
-  I finally had some time to help out in Abby's class this week!  I love volunteering, it's just been hard with Mr. Pea's schedule.  I miss teaching sometimes, so helping out is enjoyable to me.

Crappies:
- Between being sick and having an unwelcome visitor (ladies, you get me!) I have felt like poop and did not do much running...I ran only 3 days this week, so far.  Last night I made myself get on the treadmill and ended up doing an hour on it!!  Which is great...but I am still up a few pounds in water weight....uggghhhgggg.  Alas...next week is a new week :)
- Because of the above stated two reasons, I have been SO tired.  This morning, I got up early and did a quick "morning" workout I found on Pinterest.  It actually made me feel like I had more energy!  I think I should be getting up early and doing it everyday...which is a crappy because I hate waking up.  Probably because at least one pea woke me up in the night for SOME reason...stay in bed peas...so mama can do a morning workout!!
Here is the morning workout I did...in the bathroom, so no peas would hear me...

That was my week in a nutshell...I'd give it 3 stars.  Next week, I'm shooting for 5 :)

Happies and Crappies #4

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

It's Happies and Crappies time!!

Happy Friday everyone! How was your week??  Here is a sneak peak into mine:

Happies:
- I FINALLY got my link up button to work!!! Yahooo!!! Thanks Nicole!

- I finished the Tough Mudder!! Whoo-wooo!  I am SO glad it's done and over with, haha!  It was challenging, both physically and mentally.  As I was running in the FREEZING, and I mean FREEZING weather soaking wet, I told my husband "I am NEVER doing this again!".  Now that I am thawed out, I realize that I actually would like to do it again- ONLY in a warmer climate!  Like in the middle of the summer.
before...so happy and full of aspirations

Mr. Pea...ready to go

WTF just happened and why can't I feel my body?? And why is my shirt 3 sizes bigger??

Mr. Pea and his bestie...these faces explain it all :)

- Jacob had Kindergarten Round Up!!  This is a day in the spring where up and coming kinder families can come and meet the teachers and learn what kindergarten will entail.  This is my second baby to go to kindergarten so we know all the tips and tricks but it still is very exciting.  We have the BEST kinder team at our school and we are looking forward to the upcoming year!

Look at this pea!  All excited...and still holding his little monkey that he has loved since he was born :)

Getting acquainted to the tables in kinder!

Jacob met Comet the Coyote!  He was so excited!

- I have ANOTHER race this Saturday- The Dirty Girl Mud Run!  This will be SO fun and I am praying for a warmer morning :)  I am running with a group of gals that are doing this for the first time, and I am so honored to be with them on their flagship race.

- I ran 80 miles in the month of February!  That gives me a total of 144.8 for the year towards the goal of hitting 1,000 by the end of 2013.  I am aiming for at least 90 miles in March, let's see about that!

- Mr. Pea insisted I get a pedicure and a massage yesterday! WOW! What a treat!  I hadn't had a pedi since Jan 30, 2010 (the day before I had Hannah) and hadn't had a massage since I was preggers with Jacob, so bother were overdue!  It was AH-mazing and my toes look AH-dorable. Thanks Mr. Pea!

Crappies:

- Jacob got his first ear infection this week :(  He had to miss school yesterday and was so sad about it.  I hate when my kids are sick!  A warm up is around the corner so hopefully these sick buggies can get the f*%& out of here!

- I didn't lose any weight this week...boo!  I have 6lbs I'd like to lose.  I was VERY sore after the Mudder so I pretty much took it easy this week...which meant no running...which meant to a zero pound weight loss.  Tomorrow I'm going to be hitting the treadmill since Mr. Pea is working, unless I can find a babysitter!!! Any takers?!?!

I hope you had a great week too!!
